That’s at the corner of Collier Blvd. and Immokalee Roads. This area of Naples has seen tremendous growth and we’re excited to be a part of better meeting the needs of those in eastern Collier County.

Snead Eye Group is thrilled to welcome our newest member of the team, Dr. Giovana Balasquide or Dr. B. as we affectionately call her. Dr. B. will be heading up our new Pebblebrook Plaza location. Originally from Riverside, California, Dr. B graduated from Nova Southeastern University where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. During her time at Nova, she also received her Bachelors of Science in Vision Science and completed the MBA for Optometrists program.
She received her Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California Riverside prior to moving to Florida.
Dr. Balasquide’s experience includes primary care, low vision examinations and geriatrics, with an emphasis on diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular disease. Read more about Dr. B. here.

Snead Eye Group participated in a fundraiser by donating shoes for needy children in Lee and Collier County. The program is called Laces of Love. Jeanne Nealon, co-founder, shared several touching stories of how children in the community have been helped over the years. Over 60,000 shoes have been distributed!

FORT MYERS, FL. (May 19, 2016) –In April, Dr. Henry Venable, anesthesiologist for the Snead Eye Group’s Fort Myers Surgery Center, accompanied local resident Joseph Silvia a 92-year-old World War II veteran on Collier County Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Mr. Silvia served in the Air Force stationed in India during the war.
Dr. Venable is also a veteran. This was his second trip with the Collier County Honor Flight, which escorted 65 veterans from WWII and the Korean War to the Capitol for the day. Dr. Venable served as a helicopter pilot from 1973 to 1976. Then, as a doctor in the Army Reserve, he was active duty during Operation Desert Storm for eight months.
“It gives me great pride to have a member of our team volunteering with such an amazing organization, which helps salute our treasured veterans on their final mission to the heart of our nation,” said Dr. John W. Snead, M.D., F.A.C.S., founder and medical director of Snead Eye Group.
