    Halloween Eyeball Tacos

    Halloween eyeball tacos recipe

    Ingredients:

    • 1 pound ground beef
    • 1 package (10 3/4 ounces) taco dinner kit
    • Shredded lettuce
    • Chopped tomatoes
    • Sour cream
    • Sliced, pitted black olives

     Directions:

    1. Mix meat and seasoning mix.
    2. Shape into 36 1-inch balls; place in a 13×9 baking dish.
    3. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15-20 minutes or until cooked through.
    4. Fill each of 12 taco shells with one meatball, taco sauce, lettuce, and tomato.
    5. Top with 2 additional meatballs dipped in sour cream.
    6. Garnish with olives to create the eyes.

    Dr. Balasquide was interviewed by the Southwest Florida Telemundo affiliate January 23, 2017. During the Spanish language interview,Dr. Balasquide discussed the eye-health risks associated with being of Latino descent in Southwest Florida. She explains what eye diseases are most common in the Hispanic community and how annual eye exams can help latinos see well. Dr. Balasquide also reveals the importance of annual eye exams for eye health and for the health of the rest of the body.

That’s at the corner of Collier Blvd. and Immokalee Roads.     Snead Eye Group is thrilled to welcome our newest member of the team, Dr. Giovana Balasquide or Dr. B. as we affectionately call her. Dr. B. will be heading up our new Pebblebrook Plaza location. Originally from Riverside, California, Dr. B graduated from Nova Southeastern University where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. During her time at Nova, she also received her Bachelors of Science in Vision Science and completed the MBA for Optometrists program.

    She received her Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California Riverside prior to moving to Florida.

    Dr. Balasquide’s experience includes primary care, low vision examinations and geriatrics, with an emphasis on diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular disease. Read more about Dr. B. here.

    July 29 marks Snead Eye Group’s 30 year anniversary, announced

    John W. Snead, M.D., F.A.C.S., founder and medical director. Dr. Snead celebrates the occasion by offering a 30 percent discount on eyeglass frames through the month of August in honor of his 30 years.
