Snead Eye Group offers new vision simulator for cataract patients

FORT MYERS, Fla. (July 17, 2013) – Snead Eye Group is pleased to announce the availability of the new AMO Vision Simulator, an application designed to assist physicians in better providing their patients with a comprehensive understanding of common eye conditions, including presbyopia and cataracts, and to simulate the conditions they may be experiencing.

With the help of new state-of-the-art technology from Abbott and the Apple iPad, the new AMO Vision Simulator helps patients visualize their lens of choice before having it implanted. It also helps to graphically illustrate the different types of performance benefits or limitations of each lens type based on each patient’s individual condition.

“This application is extremely helpful in creating realistic patient expectations and reducing dependency on glasses,” said Dr. John W. Snead, M.D., F.A.C.S., founder and medical director of Snead Eye Group. “Our goal is to always provide in-depth education for our patients, and we commend AMO for bringing this technology to the forefront. We hope to better educate each and every patient with cataracts using this latest technology.”

Founded by Dr. John W. Snead in 1985, Snead Eye Group offers eye care for a lifetime, from fitting your first pair of glasses or contact lenses to curing cataracts, while providing the latest technology and treatment options available.
