AMD is a leading cause of vision loss, affecting more than 2 million Americans age 50 and older. But, you&nbsp;<em>can<\/em>&nbsp;take action to fight AMD with healthy food and beverage choices. This month\u2019s healthy eye recipe is both healthful and delicious. With just three simple ingredients, it\u2019s a tasty juice loaded with the super-duo power of vitamin A and antioxidants which are known to decrease the risk of AMD.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Recipe:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2707\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sneadeye.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/CArrot-Orange-GrapefruitJuice-300x236.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"211\" height=\"166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/old.advertisingfortmyers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/CArrot-Orange-GrapefruitJuice-300x236.jpg 300w, https:\/\/old.advertisingfortmyers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/CArrot-Orange-GrapefruitJuice.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 211px) 100vw, 211px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Carrot-Orange-Grapefruit Juice<\/strong>&nbsp;(<em>with or without a fancy juicer<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s just something extra satisfying about freshly-made juice. Sure, you could buy any number of pre-packaged juices at your local grocer, but they often include added sugars or preservatives. Even if you find juice that doesn\u2019t contain such additives, store-bought juice never tastes quite as refreshing as juice made right before your eyes. And guess what? You don\u2019t need a fancy juicing machine to create healthful, delicious juices in your kitchen!<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Note:&nbsp;<em>depending on the size of the ingredients, this recipe should yield about<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><em>four 8-oz. cups, or one quart*<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6-8 Medium-sized Raw Carrots<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3 Raw Oranges of Any Variety<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 Raw Grapefruit, Red or White<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2708 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sneadeye.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/WholeFruitBlenderImage-199x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"199\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/old.advertisingfortmyers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/WholeFruitBlenderImage-199x300.jpg 199w, https:\/\/old.advertisingfortmyers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/WholeFruitBlenderImage.jpg 597w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 199px) 100vw, 199px\" \/>DIRECTIONS FOR THOSE WITH NO JUICER:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Peel the grapefruit and oranges; get rid of as much pith (the white part left after peeling) as you desire. Divide into sections and don\u2019t worry about the seeds.<\/li>\n<li>Wash, peel and chop carrots into small chunks.<\/li>\n<li>Combine all three prepared ingredients in either a blender or a food processor and puree until the mixture becomes a liquid pulp.<\/li>\n<li>Over a large bowl, pour the entire mixture into a fine-mesh strainer until only pulp solids remain in the strainer, and there\u2019s as much juice as possible is in the bowl. (About 15-20 minutes.)<\/li>\n<li>Discard pulp (or add it to a compost pile if you wish)<\/li>\n<li>Using a kitchen funnel, transfer the juice to a pitcher. Chill in refrigerator or serve in glasses over ice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>IF YOU HAVE A JUICER:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Great!
