Sunglasses may make us look cool, but more importantly is their ability to protect our eyes from the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays.\u00a0 The necessity for wearing sunglasses year round, especially in Southwest Florida where we spend so much time on the beach and waterways, can’t be overstated. And, because the cumulative effects are dangerous to our eye health, it’s never too early to start wearing sunglasses either. Children should be encouraged to wear sunglasses as early as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n
